History

SEA was formed in September of 1983.  Prior to SEA, Racine had two competitive swim teams, the Racine Family YMCA Swim Team and the Racine Aquatic Club.

The Racine Family YMCA Swim Team trained in the four lane YMCA pool (downtown branch) and competed throughout Wisconsin and the nation in YMCA swim meets.  Although the exact date cannot be pinpointed, it's thought the YMCA Swim Team began back in the 1920s.

The Racine Aquatic Club practiced at local high schools and also competed in meets throughout Wisconsin and the nation in USA and AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) swim meets.  RAC formed in 1971 as an AAU team.

Because of Racine's small size, parents from RAC and the YMCA thought it beneficial for all involved if the two teams merge to form one.  In September of 1983, South Eastern Aquatics, Racine Family YMCA Swim Team was born and now serves the youth of Southeastern Wisconsin.
