Here is a quick synopsis of all volunteer positions.

Usher:  Ushers are positioned on the pool deck (four locations at the competition pool and one at the warm down pool) and help keep the deck clear of spectators and/or from people walking down the hallway past the warm down pool).  This is a sitting position.

Announcer:  Help keep all participants notified to what event is racing and what’s up next.  Make announcements when concessions close, meet apparel store closes and the swim shop closes.  This is a sitting position.  Here's a document to follow while volunteering.

Head Timer:  Start two watches for each race and give one of your watches to a timer if his or her watch did not start.  The Head Timer is basically a back-up timer.  This is a standing and sitting position.

Timer:  Time races and record your time on the timer sheet.  This is a standing and sitting position.

Timer Runner:  At the conclusion of each event, collect paperwork from official (next to the starter) and all the timers’ sheets and deliver to the office.  This is a standing, sitting, and walking position.

Scoring and Recording:  Work in the office helping the AO (administrative official) ensure all times captured from the electronic timing system are correct.  Some easy math is occasionally used.  This is a sitting position.

Kitchen:  Volunteer in the concessions area selling food.  This is a standing position and parents who volunteer here are welcome to watch their swimmers’ race and then return to concessions.

Kitchen 2:  Ensure the officials and coaches hospitality room is well stocked with food and drink.  This is a sitting, standing, and walking position.

Awards:  Either handout heat winner awards and/or place stickers on the back of awards and separate them by team.  This is a sitting, standing, and walking position.
